Dive Into the Foggy Streets of Victorian London
For our second anniversary, Kelly and I decided to do something out of the ordinary—immerse ourselves in a Sherlock Holmes adventure right in the heart of London. "The Great Murder Mystery" at The Lost Estate wasn't just dinner and a show; it was a leap straight into the pages of "The Hound of the Baskervilles."

From the moment we walked in, the place was buzzing. Imagine stepping back in time with gas lamps, antique furniture, and that Victorian vibe that screams Sherlock Holmes. It wasn't just the look; the sounds, the smells—it all felt incredibly real, like we could bump into Watson around the corner.
A Feast for the Ages
The food? Spot on. We kicked off with a cheese board that was as risky as it was tempting—loaded with a variety of cheeses that were a direct challenge to my food intolerances. Did I suffer a bit afterward? Sure. But in the spirit of adventure (and delicious cheese), it was absolutely worth it.
The main courses kept up the pace, and for dessert, instead of the usual champagne sorbet, they whipped up a special sober version for me, which was a thoughtful touch that made the night even better.
Top-Notch Service and Stellar Acts
The staff were stars in their own right—dressed up, in character, and never breaking role. They weren't just serving; they were part of the story, guiding us through the night with a mix of mystery and impeccable timing.
The real treat of the night, though, was the performance. The actors nailed their roles, with Sherlock and Watson leading the charge in cracking jokes, deducing clues, and making everyone feel like part of the team.
Cheers to the Craft of Mocktails
Amidst the theatrical flair, we were treated to some of the best alcohol-free cocktails we've ever had. Both in presentation and taste, these drinks were a testament to how far the craft of mocktails has come. Each cocktail was a masterpiece, proving that you don’t need alcohol to enjoy a stunning, delicious beverage.
Reflecting on Our Night with Sherlock
Walking home, buzzing with the thrill of the evening, Kelly and I agreed—it was the perfect way to mark another year together. Despite the brief battle with the cheese board, and armed with phenomenal mocktails, the night was a hit. Great food, amazing performances, and a bit of mystery made our anniversary unforgettable. Here’s to more years and more adventures—hopefully, with just as much excitement and a tad less cheese-induced drama!
